🌊 A New Chapter for Mooloolaba’s Foreshore! 🌴
There’s some exciting change happening right outside our doors! 🚧🌊
The Mooloolaba seawall is being replaced with a new light-coloured, terraced concrete seawall, designed to provide long-term coastal protection while also creating something pretty special for our community — more places to sit, relax and enjoy the view! 😎
And it’s not just about concrete… 🌿
The finished terraces will feature shade trees and landscaping, creating beautiful green spaces where locals and visitors can sit, catch up, watch the waves and soak up everything we love about Mooloolaba.
The terraces have been designed at approximately 900mm wide and 450mm high — essentially the perfect seating height — while also allowing people to move between levels and access the terraces from the beach stair locations.
Even better, the new design is focused on access for everyone. An all-abilities beach and parkland access ramp, along with a large viewing deck, will provide accessible access for people using wheelchairs, prams and mobility aids. 💙♿
One of the biggest outcomes from the community consultation was the desire to better connect “beach-to-business” — reducing the physical and visual barriers between the beach, parkland and the businesses along Mooloolaba Esplanade.
That means more opportunities to wander from the sand, through the parklands and straight into the heart of Mooloolaba. 🏖️🌴🍽️
Terraced seawalls are already used in coastal locations around the world, and this project is bringing that concept to our beautiful part of the Sunshine Coast.
We know construction means a little disruption along the way, but we’re looking forward to seeing the finished result and watching this space become another great place for our community to sit, connect and enjoy the ocean we’re lucky enough to call home. 🌊❤️

🌊 FORESHORE FROM ABOVE! 👀
Sometimes you need to get up high to really appreciate just how EPIC this project is! 🚧🏗️
Looking down from above, it’s a pretty impressive reminder of the sheer scale of the Mooloolaba Foreshore redevelopment. There’s a lot happening, a lot of moving parts and plenty of hard work going on behind the scenes.
It might look a little different right now, but just imagine this place when it’s all finished… 🤩🌴🌊
✨ It’s going to be incredible!
We’re certainly looking forward to seeing the finished foreshore and everything it will bring to our beautiful corner of Mooloolaba.
Until then, we’ll keep enjoying the view, watching the progress and cheering on this exciting transformation! 💙
