🌊 There’s something special about crossing the Mooloolaba Bar.

One moment you’re leaving the coastline behind. The next, the ocean opens up around you and adventure begins.

The anticipation builds with every wave as the dive sites get closer. The ex-HMAS Brisbane rising from the blue, the vibrant reefs of Mooloolaba, or even the chance to explore the spectacular walls, pinnacles and marine life of Barwon Banks.

For many divers, the journey out is more than just a boat ride.

It’s the moment the everyday fades away and the underwater world takes over.

The forecast is looking mint for ex-HMAS Brisbane this Friday and Saturday, and we still have a few spots available. Don’t miss your chance to get out there! 🤿

🐚 Looking for nudibranchs. Found something else.

While exploring Wonderland at Mooloolaba Reefs, Sheryl was busy searching for nudibranchs when her dive buddy Joyce excitedly pointed out this beautiful False Cowrie gliding across the coral.

False cowries are not just pretty faces. These small marine snails feed on soft corals and sea fans, playing a role in the delicate balance of reef ecosystems. Their incredible spotted mantle covers the shell, helping them blend seamlessly into their surroundings.

It’s also a great reminder that some of the best underwater discoveries happen when we’re not looking for them.

The longer you dive, the more you realise that slowing down, staying curious and paying attention to the small things often reveals a whole new world.

A big thank you to Sheryl for sharing this fantastic photo and story with us.

At some point, every diver starts looking beyond the basics.

A little deeper.
A little further.
A little more confident.

The SSI Advanced Open Water Diver program is designed to help you build experience through real diving adventures—not classrooms or pool sessions.

Over one weekend, you’ll experience Deep Diving, Navigation, Nitrox, Perfect Buoyancy and Wreck Diving while exploring two of South East Queensland’s most iconic dive sites: ex-HMAS Brisbane and Flinders Reef.

Swipe through the carousel and see if you’re ready for your next underwater adventure. 🤿🌊

📅 Our next Advanced Open Water course starts on 11 July, and we currently have just 2 spots remaining.
