We are thrilled to announce the Richard Divall Program Artists for the 2026-2027 season.
Joining the Emerging Artists program as new members we welcome soprano Shimona Rose and baritone Matthew Avery.
They will join sopranos Heulen Cynfal, Breanna Stuart and baritone Hartley Trusler who are continuing in the program for another year.
Soprano Uma Dobia and tenor Cen Wei will return to the Developing Artists Program.
Our new Developing Artists Program members are sopranos Agnieshka Cameron and Gemma Livingstone, mezzo sopranos Emilie Washington and Tessa McKenna and baritone Isaac Burgess.
The Developing Artists Program is a foundation year and a stepping stone to the full Emerging Artists Program.
We fondly farewell and wish all the very best to Sidra Nissen who is leaving us to join the Opera Australia Young Artists, Josh Erdelyi-Gotz and James Penn, and we look forward to their continuing association with Melbourne Opera.

Congratulations to Maestro Anthony Negus who has been appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the 2026 King’s Birthday honours in service to Opera, particularly Mozart, Wagner and Young Artists.

We are thrilled to announce that Maestro Negus will be returning to Australia in February 2027 to conduct our upcoming production of Parsifal.

A lovely afternoon yesterday celebrating the 100th performance at Flinders Estate with RDEAP Artists Joshua Erdelyi-Götz, Sidra Nissen, Helen Cynfal and Hartley Trusler. Accompanied by our Head of Music Raymond Lawrence.
