There's much more to managing construction than knowing how to build.
CPC40120 covers a broad range of building and construction competencies, including interpreting plans, applying building codes, managing WHS, estimating costs, construction contracts, site communication and project planning.
It's about understanding how the different parts of a building project work together.

Before construction starts, much of the project already exists on paper.
Plans communicate important information about dimensions, layouts, materials, structural elements, services and construction requirements.
Being able to correctly read and interpret plans is an important skill for people involved in coordinating and supervising building projects.
📐 Plans first. Construction second.

Leadership in construction is about more than giving instructions.
It involves communication, planning, problem-solving, safety awareness, quality management and making informed decisions throughout a project.
Develop the knowledge behind effective construction leadership.

10/09/2026

Construction isn't only about what happens on the tools.
Behind every successful building project are people planning work, interpreting documentation, coordinating resources, managing compliance and supervising construction activities.
PTP's building and construction qualifications are designed to help learners develop industry-relevant knowledge for the next stage of their careers.
