It's that time of year again when you wake up to a cold winter morning and notice condensation on your windows.
While condensation is a natural occurrence, excessive condensation forming on the inside of your windows can often be a sign that they are not performing as efficiently as they should. Poor thermal performance can result in colder internal glass surfaces, creating the ideal conditions for condensation to form.
However, condensation on the outside of your windows tells a very different story.
External condensation is often a sign that your windows are highly thermally efficient and doing exactly what they were designed to do. The high-performance glazing helps keep warmth inside your home while the outer pane remains cooler, demonstrating excellent insulation and reduced heat loss.
Choose ML Windows where condensation forming on the outside. Our thermally efficient window systems are designed to deliver superior comfort, energy efficiency and performance all year round.

Thermal Breaks: A Game-Changer for Window Performance 🔥❄️
The machine shown in the second picture is a perfect demonstration of the difference a thermal break makes to the thermal efficiency of aluminium window frames.
It simulates cold external conditions and measures the surface temperatures on both thermally broken and non-thermally broken frames. The results speak for themselves — and you can see and feel the difference instantly!
✅ When the outside temperature was -8.6°C and the indoor room temperature was 26.2°C:
The inside surface of the non-thermally broken frame dropped to just 8.6°C — a difference of 17.2°C (and it continued to fall!).
The thermally broken frame maintained an impressive 25.4°C — creating a much greater temperature barrier of over 34°C!
As the machine ran, the non-thermally broken frame rapidly turned cold, then wet, frosty, and eventually icy. Meanwhile, the thermally broken frame stayed stable and dry.
🔎 Why does this matter?
Metal, like aluminium, is naturally a thermal bridge — meaning it easily transfers heat and cold from outside to inside your home. Without a thermal break, your aluminium windows can become a major cause of heat loss and condensation issues in winter.
✅ Thermally broken aluminium frames dramatically improve insulation and indoor comfort, helping maintain a stable room temperature all year round.
If you're considering new windows, remember: not all aluminium frames are created equal. Choose thermally broken frames for true energy efficiency and comfort!
