Making Noises
Making Noises is the latest version of Mitch (Euan Mitchell) playing keyboard and singing both original and cover songs in and around Melbourne, Australia.
SO pleased Emma picked up a mic and harmonised on the debut of Sweet Pain at the Ragtime Tavern on April 9. Next Thursday 23 April around 8.30 pm I’ll try out another new original, Heavy Juice Ragtime Tavern

"Talk Me Around" with a Leon Russell influence. Roadtesting more songs this Thurs 13 Nov from 8.30 at Ragtime Tavern, Tyler St, Preston.
Always a danger that "singalong" songs won't get sung along to, but the smoke helps! The next time I'll try out some original and cover songs at the Ragtime Tavern, 206 Tyler St Preston, will be this Thursday 2 October, 8.30pm. Ragtime Tavern Tracey Mitchell Blade Bonesnout
"Spinal Tap" moment! During my version of "Under the Milky Way", smoke was pumped into the Ragtime Tavern's atmosphere by good-humoured Kate behind the bar. It was a well-intended touch, but for long moments I couldn't see the keyboard. Note to self: more rehearsal with eyes shut might come in handy. This Thursday 4 September I will be back at 206 Tyler Street in Preston to road-test another recently finished original song, "A Play of Light". Ragtime Tavern

The second instalment in my attempts to develop an original set of songs (reinventing Making Noises) is scheduled for this Thursday 7 August at the Ragtime Tavern, 206 Tyler Street in Preston. Last month's launch of "Love Is Never Lost" seemed to go down well with local punters, so this month I'll try out "Ice Blue". Starting around 8.30 pm, I'll sandwich my original song between a couple of Oz rock classics to soften the blow of road-testing something new 😄Ragtime Tavern Tracey Mitchell Blade Bonesnout

At the Open Mic night this Thursday 3 July at the Ragtime Tavern, 206 Tyler Street in Preston, I’m going to road-test an original song that has taken way too long to write. If it doesn’t all fall into a heap, then I might try out a few more original songs in coming months, playing as “Making Noises”.
My slot will probably be between 8.30 and 9.30 pm among all the other acts, from stand-up comedy to spoken word or perhaps even Batman playing an electric kazoo while Superman danced on (which happened last time I was there). It’s kind of a crazy little bar built around a rotating baby grand piano.

OzRock Mitch becomes Making Noises from today. Next month, I’m going to test out some original material at a venue in Preston, which is actually north of the “Hipster-Proof Fence” (Bell Street).
The first versions of the band Making Noises formed in 1986 and wrapped up in 1994. In 1988 we won a showcase on national TV (Channel 10, post-Countdown) for unsigned bands with an original song called “Jungle Bash”. In the early 90s, our song “Talk Me Around” aired on Fox FM as a demo, as well as on community radio.
But life caught up with all of us and the band dissolved. So, perhaps foolishly, this month I’m reinventing Making Noises in Preston as a solo act. At least to start with. Date, time and place soon.
