Not every woman can just “leave.” Especially not out here.
Domestic Violence Prevention Month hits differently in regional Australia.
Distance isn’t just geography, it’s isolation, limited services, fewer safe places, and harder exits.
Project Pink exists to bridge that gap. Through early intervention, boxing, movement, and real community support, we’re helping women (and young people) rebuild confidence, strength, and safety, before, during, and after crisis.
Because prevention isn’t just awareness. It’s access. It’s support. It’s someone in your corner when options feel limited.
If you’re in a position to support, donate, or share. This is where it matters 🙏🏼
If you need help — you are not alone 🫶🏼
For many women in regional Australia, leaving a violent situation isn’t as simple as packing a bag and walking out the door. There are fewer services, longer wait times, limited transport, and often a lack of anonymity in small communities.
Financial barriers, children, housing shortages, and fear of being seen or judged all compound the challenge. This is where Project Pink steps in, creating a safe, supportive space through structured programs that use boxing and movement as tools for empowerment, emotional regulation, and rebuilding identity.
By focusing on early intervention and community connection, Project Pink is helping break cycles before they continue, giving regional women access to strength, support, and a pathway forward.

This Queensland Women’s Week, we’re proud to shine a spotlight on the incredible work being done through Project Pink in Mackay💖
At Project Pink, Charlotte is empowering women and teen girls affected by domestic violence and abuse. Through boxing and self-defence, the program helps build confidence, strength and resilience — all within a safe and supportive community.
Her dedication is creating a space where women and young girls can reclaim their power, support one another, and grow stronger together.
Thank you Charlotte and the team, for the meaningful impact you’re making in our community and for helping women find their strength. 💪💕
