Meet Our Pre-Kindy Educators: Miss Amanda, Miss Annika and Miss Teika
Miss Amanda, Miss Annika and Miss Teika are our fulltime Educators in our Pre-Kindy Room. They work together to create a fun, engaging and warm environment where their children can learn and be creative.
Miss Amanda believes, “All children are special, unique and equal. Children should be in an early childhood environment that is warm, friendly and inviting. Educators should provide environment and experiences that support play and actively engage with children in teachable moments. Strong communication and relationships with families is vital. Educators need to work collaboratively with families as they know their child best.”
Miss Annika, "I value working in partnership with families, recognising them as children’s first teachers, and believe open communication is essential to supporting children’s wellbeing and development. I am committed to reflecting on my practice and continuing to learn so I can provide the best possible care and learning opportunities for each child."
Miss Teika, "I love making children feel safe, happy and welcomed. They should be in a happy and safe environment with people who they can trust and build relationships with. I love Goodstart as every single educator makes them feel that way, they make the children feel safe, they make them feel like they belong. We listen to every child and their needs, we help them and most importantly, we make them safe."

National Reconciliation Week
Throughout National Reconciliation Week, our children participated in a range of meaningful experiences that celebrated and explored Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
Across all our rooms, educators engaged children in conversations about reconciliation, what it means, and why it is important. These discussions encouraged children to think about respect, kindness, inclusion, and the importance of learning about different cultures and histories.
The children enjoyed story time sessions, explored Dreaming stories, and used felt pieces to create their own interpretations through creative storytelling. They also participated in hand-painting activities using the colours of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags and painted didgeridoos, allowing them to express their learning through creativity while exploring important cultural symbols and traditions.

This week we celebrate National Reconciliation Week from the 27th of May to the 3rd of June! 🖤❤️💛
The theme for National Reconciliation Week 2026 is 'All In,' a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every day.
The dates of National Reconciliation Week commemorate two defining milestones in Australia's reconciliation journey! May 27th is the anniversary of the 1967 referendum, when Australians voted overwhelmingly to include Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the census. June 3rd is the anniversary of the historic 1992 High Court Mabo decision, which legally recognised Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the traditional owners of their lands.
At Goodstart we are committed to creating an inclusive and culturally safe environment where children can learn and understand Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture. Across our five rooms this week our children will be learning about our shared histories and cultures.

Dive into our Under the Sea World in our Pre-Kindy Room
Our children and educators have worked together to create a beautiful ocean-inspired corner filled with sea creatures, ocean colours, sensory treasures, and imaginative play experiences. Through creativity, teamwork, and exploration, the children have been discovering the wonders of life under the sea.
As part of the experience, the children explored their creativity through painting activities and proudly made their very own jellyfish to hang from the ceiling, bringing our underwater world to life!

Meet Mari, our wonderful chef at Goodstart Highfields.
Every day, Mari prepares fresh, nutritious meals that help keep our little learners happy, healthy, and full of energy. She has a special way of making mealtimes something children genuinely look forward to, encouraging them to try new foods, discover different flavours, and develop healthy eating habits early on.
From warm, comforting lunches to tasty snacks, everything Mari makes is prepared with care. Her passion for cooking, along with her love for working with children, shines through in everything she does.
We’re so lucky to have Mari as part of our Goodstart family, she brings warmth, deliciousness, and a friendly smile to our centre every day!
We’re often asked what being not-for-profit really means for our families.
Simply put, it means that our purpose always comes before profit. Every dollar we make is reinvested back into our centres, to provide children with enriching and safe learning environments.
We understand how important it is for children to be in a place where they feel safe and settled. And when families need to make a change - planned or unexpected - we’re here to help make that transition easier.
We’re here to support families when it matters most – because every child deserves a Goodstart! ✨
