Australia is updating how airborne contaminants are managed, with new Workplace Exposure Limits (WEL) replacing the current standards.

What’s changing:

•New and updated exposure limits
•First ever limit for diesel particulate matter
•Some substances now classed as non-threshold genotoxic carcinogens - meaning exposure must be eliminated

Airborne contaminants like dusts, gases, fumes, vapours and mists can be invisible but harmful. Now’s the time to check your controls and make sure your air monitoring and risk management processes are up to date.

Not all limits are changing - nine chemicals will transition with their current values.

👉 Take action now:
• Review your exposure controls
• Update your air monitoring
• Visit our new information hub to see what’s changing and what it means for your workplace https://bit.ly/4dv703s
