Recently, James was at a school event and, without me asking, he decided to make a video promoting Treasure Hunters.
A young lady called Megan stepped in and joined him. Neither of them had to do it. There was no payment, no reward and no expectation of getting anything back. They simply saw an opportunity to support us and stepped forward.
That taught me something.
There is a special value in the person who does something good for you before you ever ask them. I have come to believe that some acts of kindness can never truly be repaid, because what makes them so valuable is the willingness behind them.
Today Megan came into the shop, and I had the chance to tell her how much I appreciated what she had done. After our conversation, she left me this note.
But for me, Megan represents many people who have supported me, my family and our business over the years without being asked. I am grateful for every one of them.
Sometimes we underestimate the importance of telling people that we appreciate them. If someone has shown you kindness, acknowledge it. Let them know that what they did mattered.
The greatest gift is often the willingness to help. And kindness has a way of travelling further than the person who first gave it.
James put on the elf face and suddenly Captain Joe was led astray! 🧝♂️🦌😂
We’re blaming the naughty elf for this one!
