The theme for National Reconciliation Week 2026 is All In, a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day. This fits with STAR’s first Reconciliation Plan that commitments to continuing to build friendships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, engage in yarning circles and embracing responsibilities under the new Aged Care Act. We recognise that aged care must not only meet clinical needs but also promotes cultural inclusion and equity, especially with seniors whose unique connection to land, family and community deserve recognition and respect. Reconciliation Australia’s vision of a just, equitable and reconciled nation aligns with STAR’s goal of fostering care environments where First Nation’s Elders feel safe, respected and understood. STAR is looking forward to releasing its Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan very soon. Artwork by Nicky Karklis-Jones.

Since Australia’s first National Reconciliation Week in 1996, the reconciliation journey has continued to grow through the leadership of organisations like Reconciliation Australia.
Across Brisbane during National Reconciliation Week, communities come together through cultural performances, storytelling, art, yarning circles, flag raisings and community events that celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories and achievements.
Today, communities across Australia unite to learn, reflect and take meaningful action toward reconciliation.
National Reconciliation Week 2026 theme: All In — a call for every Australian to commit to reconciliation every day.
