From 1 October to 31 October, we are celebrating Queensland Seniors Month with a fantastic range of activities happening across the Southern Downs and Lockyer Valley through our Community Connections Program.

STAR acknowledges with great sadness the passing of Pam Bridges, whose loss has been deeply felt by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Pam served as Chairperson of the STAR Board for five years and as an active member of the Board before that.

She was an exceptional leader, mentor and advocate, whose outstanding career, unwavering commitment and determination to ensure seniors received the highest quality of care and service left a lasting mark on STAR.

Sara Horsey, STAR Board, gave voice to Pam’s final report at the recent AGM and shared her wishes for STAR, ensuring that Pam’s words, vision and hopes for the organisation continued to be heard.

Pam’s leadership reached far beyond the Boardroom. She brought wisdom, strength, compassion and a genuine commitment to making a difference in the lives of older people. Her guidance helped shape STAR and inspired those around her to continue striving for excellence in the care and service we provide.

Sara said to Pam, “Your contribution is now part of STAR’s story, and your legacy will live on through the people and community you helped shape.”

Thank you, Pam. You will be deeply missed and always remembered.
