Queensland Property Update 🏡

Contracts have changed - deposits must now be paid on the exact date listed, even if it’s a weekend or public holiday.

What this means for you:
✅ Set deposit dates on business days
✅ Pay on or before the listed date
✅ Provide proof of payment straight away

Late deposits can trigger a default and give sellers the right to terminate.

The Reserve Bank of Australia has kept the cash rate on hold at 3.6% in its final meeting of 2025.

Inflation ticked up to 3.8% in October, prompting the RBA to pause after three cuts earlier this year. Governor Michele Bullock noted that while demand is recovering and the labour market remains tight, inflation risks have “tilted to the upside.”

For households, the decision offers short‑term stability, but the RBA has signalled that extended holds, or even hikes, could follow in 2026 if price pressures persist.

RBA Holds Rates Steady at 3.6%

Last week, the Reserve Bank of Australia decided to keep the cash rate on hold at 3.6%. The economy’s showing signs of recovery, but inflation, especially in housing and services, is still a concern.

Wages are up, spending is picking up, and unemployment remains low, so the RBA’s taking a “wait and see” approach. They’re watching upcoming data closely before making any moves, and for now, rate cuts look less likely in the near term.
