One of my favourite pastimes is stumbling across collections like this one.

I could have spent hours looking at these incredible pieces at Palazzo Pitti in Florence.

What struck me was how different some of these pieces were, yet how familiar so many of the ideas still feel today.

So much of what we think of as new has been inspired by what came before.
