You can make your property less attractive to offenders by:

• Keeping your front yard tidy and visible from the street
• Making sure entrances can be easily seen by neighbours and passers-by
• Regularly checking your property for areas where someone could hide unnoticed

When a property looks well cared for and easily observed, criminals are more likely to move on.

Light Up the Night

Good lighting makes it harder for offenders to go unnoticed.

Consider:

• Installing sensor lights near entrances and pathways
• Replacing blown bulbs promptly
• Lighting side paths, garages and other areas hidden from the street

Well-lit properties are less appealing to opportunistic criminals.
