A home that simply feels right. That was the goal for this Farrer renovation and it's exactly what our team delivered.

The existing 1970s home had good bones but a layout that worked against its occupants, dark, compartmentalised rooms and an exterior that had long since lost its appeal. Rather than extending, the design reconfigured the existing footprint to unlock a generosity of space the original home never had. The result is a calm, light-filled home that now includes a large open-plan kitchen, dining and living area with fireplace, a master suite with walk-in robe and ensuite, a study and an expansive alfresco deck.

The kitchen is a standout, sage green cabinetry against handmade zellige-style tiles, with warm timber accents and terracotta pendant lights adding depth and personality. Engineered timber flooring runs throughout, large picture windows frame the treetops and the alfresco deck draws you outside through wide sliding doors. The bathrooms continue the design story with penny round mosaic tiles, timber vanities, concrete vessel basins and matte black tapware.

Externally, the brick has been bagged and painted, new aluminium double-glazed windows and doors installed throughout, and entry and alfresco decks added with glass balustrades that preserve the elevated views.

Good progress on this renovation and extension in Calwell, with several key stages now complete and the home taking real shape.

This original 1977 Willemsen home in Farrer is one of those projects that showcases what a truly integrated design and build approach can achieve. Five separate levels, varying ceiling heights and a complex site, the kind of brief that demands respect, precision and a team that can hold the vision from the first sketch through to the final finish.

The clients' vision was clear: a contemporary, spacious, light-filled home with a resort-like quality and a strong connection to the outdoors. Achieving that on a site this layered required careful planning, precise construction and considered decision-making at every stage.

The exterior tells the story first. Painted white brick, new windows, frameless glass balustrades, louvre screening and a new pool position and surround have replaced what was a heavy, dated facade. Inside, the complete transformation is equally considered, a reimagined kitchen with dramatic feature marble and herringbone timber flooring, multi-level living zones flooded with natural light through new skylights, a refined bathroom, ensuite and laundry, and a new balcony with views overlooking the bush capital that makes the most of the home's elevated position.

Progress is well underway on this renovation and extension in Banks, and the transformation is already taking shape.

Our team has worked through internal demolition of the existing structure, slab preparation, frame stage and sheeting, with the fix, paint and fit off up next.
