"7 ways my husband is a leader and yours is a loser."
This kind of content gives us the ick.
Because if your husband isn't doing those things, you're left wondering what's wrong with him, what's wrong with you, and what's wrong with your marriage.
Nothing is inherently wrong with either of you.
It's a pattern. He steps back, you step up. You take over, he stops trying. And round it goes.
In our 23 years together, we didn't change our marriage by shaming each other. We changed the pattern by changing the roles we were both playing.
Your partner isn't the problem. The pattern is.

Being apart is a gift most FIFO couples waste.
Distance creates the energy of missing each other. That's what brings back spark, chemistry and passion, if you actually use it.

You didn’t become roommates because life got busy.
You became roommates because somewhere between the kids, work, responsibilities and routines, you stopped intentionally creating your marriage.
Great marriages don’t just “work.”
They keep growing. They keep evolving. And they keep choosing connection. ❤️

The text he sends before he even gets home.
He asks for the rundown from the airport. By the time he walks in he's up to speed, and she's no longer stuck being his manager.

These are the 5 common beliefs I see keeping good men stuck in marriages they say they want to change.
Because if you want your marriage to change, you can't keep doing what you've always done and wait for your wife to become easier to live with.
A lot of men aren't asking for too much from their marriage.
They're showing up too passively inside it and expecting too little from themselves.
Your marriage doesn't need you to have all the answers.
It needs a man willing to show up even on the hard days.
To have the conversations you've been avoiding.
To understand the woman you're married to now.
To take some initiative instead of waiting for her to tell you what's wrong.
And to keep growing alongside her.
The goal isn't just to stay married for another 20 years.
It's to create a marriage together that you'd both actually WANT to be part of for the next 20 years.
And if you're ready to be that man, take the initiative and lead the first step.

Don't wait for your wife to fix the marriage.
Be the one who says, “Let's create something better together.”
She doesn't want you to fix it.
You're thousands of kilometres away. You can't. Just tell her "that sounds like a lot, you're doing amazing." That's all she needs to hear.

This week we're in Thailand with 12 of our Save My Marriage School clients 🇹🇭
Three days. No kids. No work. No rushing to the next thing.
Just space for couples to focus on each other and reconnect.
Because you don't change a marriage by simply knowing or understanding more.
You change it by actually doing something "different", having new experiences together to create different results.
Our 3 Day Retreats are exclusively for couples inside Save My Marriage School.
The next one is in Perth 🇦🇺

Stop trying to get back to the honeymoon stage. There could be something even better ahead of you ❤️
For a long time, we wanted to get back to how we used to be. Before kids. Before stress. Before resentment.
But we weren't those people anymore. Trying to recreate the past kept us stuck looking backwards.
So we stopped asking "How do we get the old us back?" and started asking "What kind of marriage do we want to create next?"
Your best years together don't have to be behind you.

You chose this. So act like it.
FIFO isn't happening to you. Live in "have to" energy and you'll resent the life you built. Choose it on purpose, or make a different choice.

23 years together. 13 years married. 2 kids, our 3rd baby on the way, no family support nearby and a business we run together.
We don’t stay connected because we have loads of spare time.
We stay connected because we’ve made connection a habit. ❤️
Here’s what that actually looks like in a normal week:
☕ One 5 minute Coffee Check In
One intentional conversation where we ask:
1. How are you feeling in yourself + our relationship?
2. What’s working in our relationship?
3. Is there anything you haven’t shared with me yet?
4. What’s important to you this week + how can I support you?
5. What actions do we need to take after this? Who’s doing what?
❤️ One date every week
Nothing fancy. We actually prefer day dates now we’re parents. Just time to be Aston + Adam again, not Mum + Dad.
😘 5 connection touch points a day
Cuddles. Kisses. Cheeky texts. Bum taps. A hand on the leg. Eye contact. Winks. Compliments. Inside jokes.
We make connection a game, not another chore.
💪 We habit stack connection + movement
Right now, at 25 weeks pregnant, that looks like a coastal walk and a yoga class together each week.
💃 We play and have fun together
Listening to music whilst we cook dinner. Dancing in the kitchen. Being silly together.
🔥 We intentionally create physical intimacy
Usually 1–2 times a week for us. But we don’t wait until bedtime and hope the spark magically appears.
We build desire through affection throughout the day and have tech free nights where we head to bed early, put music on, give each other massages and intentionally create space for intimacy.
📺 TV is our last resort for connection
If we watch something together, we’ll often choose something that sparks conversation or connection. Travel + romance is our favourite combination.
Because connection isn’t something you wait to find.
It’s something you create in tiny moments, every single day.
Marriage is a habit. Connection is a habit.
If you want to start creating these habits together, join the waitlist for our "10 Day Reconnect Challenge". ❤️
10 days. 15 minutes a day. One simple action to do together. To help you Reconnect.
