QUEENSLAND TITLE DATE ANNOUNCED FOR 2026/27 SEASON

For the first time the Qld title will head to Carina Speedway, Bundaberg on the 28th of November 2026. With only a fey years of racing undertaken at the Bundy track the title will be challenging for drivers with track time between now and November crucial for kart set-up. The Bundaberg Speedway Kart club are very excited to be hosting next seasons title and are looking forward to a fantastic event.

EXCITING TIMES AHEAD FOR SPEEDWAY KARTS WITH THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE NEW MIDGET CLASS

Speedway Karting Association of Australia is pleased to announce the introduction of the Midget class for kids 5-7 years of age. After a lot of work behind the scenes with Speedway Australia the Association and clubs will be able to offer kids 5-7 the opportunity to experience Speedway Racing on a National level.
Licencing is already live on the Speedway Australia Web page so kids can actively race from today on a full or one day licence.
If you are interested in getting you involved in the Midget Class please contact your local club.

Midget Class rules and Specifications

Demonstration training Class Only
Midget Drivers are defined as Drivers from 5 years of age to their 7th Birthday. Once they turn 7 the must go into the Sub Junior Class unless and exemption has been granted by the SKAA.

Engine: Honda GX35, Unmodified, Must be fitted with kill switch on steering wheel.
Wheelbase: 740mm-880mm
Rear Track: Maximun 1100mm
Wheels Metallic Contruction - 5" diameter x 135mm maximum width
Tyres: Wet weather or Dirt Tyres
Bodywork: Compulsory Nosecone, Nassau Panel, side pods and rear bumper.

What a weekend it was at the NSW Compact Derby Championship in Tamworth! 🚗💨 Trent and Harry made the trip down south, and while I missed the first heat, I was excited to catch and record the second and third heats along with the feature race.

Trent hasn't been in the seat since the QLD Titles late last year, so we were all a bit anxious about how things would go. But let me tell you, he absolutely surprised us in the best way possible! 🙌

These results secured him a P1 start for the feature race! It was a nail-biter, but Trent finished strong in 3rd place. We're all so proud of his dedication to racing and his willingness to help others, even in the same class.
