We’re the largest, most advanced aeromedical service in the southern hemisphere, bringing critical care closer to home. Yesterday our Brisbane-based LifeFlight crew airlifted a child to hospital, after a Stradbroke Island campfire incident.
Our helicopter landed on the beach to drop the medical team, before moving to Point Lookout to wait for the patient.
Our critical care doctor and flight nurse worked alongside local paramedics to treat the young girl, who had burns to her feet.
The QAS team then drove the patient to the helicopter, and she was airlifted to Queensland Children's Hospital in a stable condition.

Throwback to a beary special moment 🐻
Clive Bear-ghofer was recently unveiled and named in honour of long-time LifeFlight supporter and philanthropist, Clive Berghofer, recognising his incredible contribution to LifeFlight and the Darling Downs community.
It's also the first bear, painted by talented artist Anna from Shiny Happy Art, to form part of A Beary Big Trail 🎨 Keep an eye out for Clive Bear-ghofer and other bear sculptures coming to the Darling Downs region in March 2027!

For Dannielle, Billy's survival means everything.
After a catastrophic truck rollover left Billy fighting for his life, she could only hope he would find his way back to their family.
Today, he's home.
"LifeFlight saved Billy. Had they not acted so quickly and efficiently, he wouldn't be here. They brought home a partner, a dad, a son and a brother," said Dannielle.

Last week our Toowoomba-based crew winched a man to safety after he injured his leg while hiking.
Our helicopter was tasked to Girraween National Park on the Queensland and New South Wales border.
Our critical care doctor, QAS flight paramedic and rescue crew officer were winched down to the patient, and he was treated for a suspected broken ankle.
The man, in his 60s, was stabilised at the scene before being flown to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.

It was a busy weekend for our Sunny Coast-based crew 🚁
On Saturday they airlifted a man in his 50s to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital in a stable condition after two trucks crashed on the Bruce Highway near Banya. In a multi-agency response, the incident was attended by Queensland Police Service officers, Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics and Queensland Fire Department crews. Our critical care doctor and QAS flight paramedic worked with local paramedics to treat the patient for head and limb injuries.
On Sunday, they airlifted a woman in her 60s to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition after she fell from a horse in Widgee, west of Gympie and sustained lower body injuries.

Yesterday our Toowoomba-based crew airlifted a man in his 40s to hospital after a motorbike incident in Halliford.
Our critical care doctor and QAS flight paramedic worked with local paramedics to treat the patient for arm and chest injuries.
He was then flown to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition for further treatment.
