✨ Meet Our Team – Sanchari Mukherjee, Technical Consultant ✨

After earning a Master of Science in Geology at Presidency College, India, Sanchari gained field experience in base metal and gold exploration at Hindustan Zinc before joining Datamine to support customers across India.

Based in New Delhi and enjoying literature and classical music outside work, one of the defining projects of her career was delivering Studio RM training to a coal customer whose geology team needed not only software instruction but also support to transform their existing geological data into a practical, effective workflow.

Sanchari reviewed the dataset, geology, current process and expected outcomes before dividing the problem into manageable steps, selecting suitable Studio RM tools and tailoring training around the customer’s data.

The project gave the client a clearer, more consistent geological workflow and greater confidence in using Studio RM independently to their own project data.

It taught Sanchari that effective training starts with understanding the real problem, not simply demonstrating software functions.

✨ Meet Our Team – Rafael Odorizzi, Senior Mining Engineer ✨

From supporting hard-rock projects at Datamine Brazil and short-term planning at Anglo American Coal, Rafael Odorizzi built experience across mine design, scheduling and planning horizons.

Now based in Brisbane, and enjoying Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and cooking outside work, Rafael considers a pit optimisation and life-of-mine pit design project for Vale a defining experience for his career. He reviewed optimisation results, assessed scenarios and translated selected outputs into practical, mineable designs.

The challenge was maintaining consistency across multiple outputs while accounting for operational constraints. When an economically attractive result could not become a workable design, the assumptions had to be reviewed rather than accepting the software output.

The project gave Vale’s long-term planning team structured, traceable scenarios and practical designs for consistent evaluation and decision-making. It taught Rafael that optimisation supports decisions but never replaces engineering judgement.
