The Bathurst 2026 Excel Challenge has been run and won. Great to finally share the track with my my long term racing mate Luke Rinaldi after 10 years of racing together.
With a field of 42 cars and it was going to be a tough event.
Unfortunately I was dealt a heavy hand and disqualified for a low hanging undertray from 5th in qually.
Race 1 was abandoned
Race 2, I had to start rear of grid, and I needed green laps with no stoppages and that’s what we got for 7 laps. It was the highlight of my weekend driving through the field without a single touch to another car, crossing the finish line in 6th place.
Race 3 on Sunday morning showed us we had the pace at the front, starting from 6th, finishing under a red flag after 4 laps in 2nd place with the quickest time of the weekend.
Overall I finished the event in 4th.
Massive thanks to Dad for keeping me positive and focused.

Such great racing but unfortunately the session ended early

After an eventful round 2 of Series X3 Club Queensland inc. , we are locked and loaded and ready to tackle Mt Panorama this weekend.

The weekend at Morgan Park for round 2 found a few issues with the car we had to fix, but better then, than at Bathurst
We qualified in 6th, broke my accelerator bracket.
Won Race 1
Second Race 2
13th in race 3, blew gearbox on lap 5 and did last 5 laps in 5th gear.
And last race broke my shifter at the start line and watched the race from the infield!

Big thanks to Angus Baills for letting me take his Formula Ford Spectrum Durotec out for a session, what a blast.

Looking forward to getting back to the mountain this weekend.

It was time to get back into the racing groove; the first race of the year is done and dusted.
The new livery looked great, thanks Josh Dremel, and the Zenith Racing Solutions Excel was set to jet with the Peterbuilt Race Engines motor on song.

Race 5 - 4th

Race 1 was one of the best racing I have ever had. The dueling and standard of racecraft between Jackson F, Brett, Connor R and myself was brilliant, clean and respectful by all.

Race 4 started dry and quickly turned into a massive downpour.
Brett and I managed to keep it on track and pushed each other hard fighting for the lead, but in the end the win went to Jackson F, who drove to the front from last at the start, well done Jacko.

Race 5 was an emotional roller coaster, I had a great start and was able to drive off to a great lead for the 10 lap race. By the end of lap 5, I had over a 5 second lead to the battling pack behind me, and then leaving turn 5 on lap 6 one of my cylinders decided it didnt want to play any more as I developed a massive misfire. Slowly but surely the chasing pack reeled me in and I crossed the line in 5th place, which was later changed to 4th.

Overall though I managed to win Trophy Series and the event overall.

Last weekend I was honoured and privileged to be formally awarded the QCRC Hyundai X3 Series State Championship at the QLD Motorsports Australia awards.

And that’s a wrap for the 2025 season.
Round 6 of the PMP Excel Series was my last race of the year.
Congratulations to my team mate Luke Rinaldi for taking out the 2025 Nankang Excel Cup Championship, a well deserved and hard earnt achievement.
I gave it my best over the weekend, finishing 3rd overall with 2 x 3rds, 2 x 4ths, and a win in the last race. It was very tight and clean racing all weekend at the pointy end, cheers to Tyler Collins, Thomas Manwaring, Josh Richards & Caleb Paterson.
I did finally get to win an “Up On The Wheel” award, so now I can get a new MPI steering wheel for my new car.
The weekend was a real family affair with my nephews and niece out to watch, sister in law Kirsten, my brothers Bodine & Kyle too. ( It was the first time Kyle has ever seen me on track, cos he is so busy running the family business)
