Tornadoes. Floods. Earthquakes. Extreme heat. Blizzards. A very relaxing little series for the American Red Cross. đŹ
Working with US agency Levitate, we combined live-action green-screen talent with 2D, 3D and VFX to turn emergency advice into something clear, visual and easier to follow.
Five weather events. English, Spanish and ASL.
Because during an emergency, decoding the communication really shouldnât be part of the emergency.
âI could never be a foster carer.â
Sometimes that assumption is exactly what communication needs to challenge.
This campaign for NSW Department of Communities and Justice was created to help people better understand emergency foster care, break down assumptions about who can foster, and show the difference an emergency carer can make in a childâs life.
Maybe the person watching has never pictured themselves doing it before.
Maybe now they can.
Over the years we have become quite the scientists. By force of course. When youâre explaining complex stuff you gotta go hard nerd mode đ¤ Style inspired by the original video created for Illumina by Buck
We are not molecular biologists.
But to animate single-cell RNA sequencing, we first had to understand single-cell RNA sequencing. That meant getting our heads around encapsulation, emulsions, cell lysis, barcoded oligos, mRNA capture and cDNA synthesis. Then came the next challenge: turning all of that into something a viewer could actually follow without needing a PhD or a strong cup of coffee.
Thatâs the strange skill behind a good explainer.
We study the subject. We ask a mildly annoying number of questions. We pull apart the process, find the logic inside it, then rebuild it with design, movement, storytelling and just enough visual delight to keep people watching.
Weâre still not molecular biologists.
But we can now animate an exceptionally stable emulsion.
Hereâs a little look behind the scenes of our work for Illumina.
AI Dayz x Films for Good.
Two days. One cause. Real food for very deserving doggos.
This internal experiment was created by our cinematographer Rhys, inspired by Lyka and the idea that beloved pets deserve better than mystery pellets from the sadness cupboard.
Not a commissioned Lyka project, just a fast AI-assisted creative sprint from our team. We have created commissioned work for Lyka previously, but this one was made for AI Dayz.
Tools used:
Magnific for image generation
Kling for animation
ElevenLabs for voice
Epidemic Sound for music
DaVinci Resolve for grade, ambience and polish
AI-assisted.
Human-led.
Made in two days.
This weekâs Films for Good feature: Western Queensland Drought Appeal.
WQDA supports rural and remote communities across Western Queensland through drought, flood and natural disaster.
Not in a vague âthoughts and prayers and a hashtagâ kind of way.
In a practical way.
Get support in.
Get it where it is needed.
Keep it local where possible.
Help communities keep going.
We created this animation for them a little while back, and it is exactly the kind of work we mean when we talk about Films for Good.
Not just because of the video.
Because of the organisation behind it.
Good work deserves to be seen.
This is the kind of work weâre doing more of. Films, animations, explainers and campaign content for organisations doing meaningful things.
The ones caring for people...
Teaching.
Supporting.
Fundraising.
Building trust.
Strengthening communities.
Trying to make something better.
We call it Films for Good.
Good causes still need good craft.
If the work matters, the story should too.

Really enjoyed bringing this one to life for Sundale.
They do meaningful work, and we wanted the animation to reflect that, warm, calm, welcoming, and centred on real human experience.
Weâre drawn to projects like this. Work that helps shine a light on organisations doing good in the world.
