THE BEST 21: “The Axis” serves as the title track of the instrumental rock album released on April 25, 2025.

The single is a tightened radio edit that removes the extended introduction, issued earlier on March 21, 2025, and used prominently throughout the album’s promotional campaign.

Musically, it’s the second heaviest track on the record—almost a spiritual successor to “No Tomorrow,” even though the two pieces weren’t conceived together.

Matthew Scott returns on lead guitar, adding a distinctive, blues-tinged edge to the composition.

The accompanying music video—also produced and directed by Scott—presents a staged “live” performance featuring Scott on lead guitar, Dan Stixx (ex-NOT DEAD YET) on drums, and me on bass.

Stixx appears exclusively in the video and does not perform on the album itself.
