💙 Managing asthma isn't just about treating symptoms when they occur. Being prepared and knowing what to do when symptoms change is also important.
During National Asthma Week, we're encouraging people living with asthma to consider whether they're due for an asthma review and whether their Asthma Action Plan is up to date.
An asthma review with your GP can include discussing:
💨 How well your symptoms are being managed
🩺 Your current Asthma Action Plan
💊 How and when to use prescribed asthma medications
🚩 Changes in symptoms or asthma triggers
Signs your asthma may not be well controlled can include needing your reliever more often, waking at night, difficulty exercising, or ongoing coughing, wheezing, chest tightness or shortness of breath.
If you're due for a review, consider booking an appointment with one of our GPs.

💙 How much do you know about your prostate health?
During Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, we’re encouraging men to understand their individual risk factors and speak with their GP about prostate health.
Some prostate conditions may not cause symptoms in their early stages. When symptoms occur, they may include:
🚻 Changes when urinating
🌙 Needing to urinate more frequently, particularly at night
💧 Difficulty starting or maintaining urine flow
⚠️ Blood in the urine, which should always be assessed by a healthcare professional
These symptoms can have many possible causes and don’t necessarily mean prostate cancer.
Your GP can discuss your age, personal and family history, other risk factors and whether prostate cancer screening may be appropriate for your individual circumstances.
If you have concerns or notice persistent urinary changes, consider booking an appointment with your GP.

Your heart works quietly in the background, every single day.
Most of the time, we don't think about it. But understanding your heart health can be an important part of looking after your overall wellbeing.
Whether you've been referred by your GP, are experiencing symptoms that require further assessment, or need ongoing cardiac monitoring, appropriate cardiac investigations can provide information to assist with your clinical care.
At Botanic Ridge Doctors, Adel Cardiology provides cardiac assessment services, including:
❤️ Echocardiograms
🏃 Stress echocardiograms
These investigations provide information about the heart's structure and function and may assist healthcare professionals in assessing a range of cardiac conditions where clinically appropriate.
If your GP recommends further cardiac assessment, our team can assist with coordinating your referral to Adel Cardiology.
If you have concerns about your heart health, speak with your healthcare professional about the assessment options that may be appropriate for you.

Cancer touches the lives of so many Australians.
Whether it's a loved one, a friend, a colleague, or your own health journey, many of us know someone whose life has been impacted by cancer.
This Daffodil Day, we recognise the important work of the Cancer Council in supporting people affected by cancer, funding vital research, and raising awareness about the importance of prevention, early detection and ongoing support.
While we can't always control every health outcome, we can take positive steps towards looking after our wellbeing by staying informed, attending recommended health checks and screening programs, and speaking with our healthcare team about any concerns.
At Botanic Ridge Doctors, we’re proud to support initiatives that encourage health awareness, preventative care, and compassionate support within our community.
Today, we stand together with everyone impacted by cancer and acknowledge the strength of patients, families, carers, researchers and healthcare teams working towards a future with better outcomes for all.
