We hope you are all doing well during these trying times. We have had a couple more changes here at Computer Initiatives, we said goodbye to Jordan mid August and have welcomed Josh to our Support Team. Jordan has been a valuable part of the CiNet Team and he will be missed, we wish him well in all his future endeavours.

Congratulations to Breanna and her husband Ross on the arrival of their beautiful baby boy, Archie, born 23/6, a little brother to Aston. Everyone is happy and healthy.

What a busy couple of months we’ve had a Computer Initiatives. We have welcomed Lauren to Reception, Dan to our Tech Support Team and we have said goodbye to Tim. Tim has been a wonderful asset to all at CI over the years and we wish him well in his future endeavours.

If you have your Servers exposed to the internet for Remote Access from Home (and don’t connect to a VPN first) or Host your Email On-Premises, please contact us about setting up monitoring on your Servers that will detect invalid login attempts. If 3 invalid attempts from the same IP is made, the IP address can be blocked for 48 hours (or determined time) to help minimise the potential for hacking.

We have attached a list of known email scams.

Remember to stay vigilant when receiving emails from the ATO or any other Government entity.

If in doubt check a few of the following elements of the email to see if it's legitimate, if it doesn't pass some of these points then it's probably a scam.

- Check the from address, if it's a random address or the email doesn't match the name then it's a scam
- Hover over any links in the email, if it goes to GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox with a PDF or other attachment, then it's probably a scam.
- If you do happen to click on a link and it asks for login details then it's probably a scam.
