Slab heave can be devastating and is too common in Victoria however it can be prevented through proper design, correct installation and by getting a qualified inspector to ensure that it is being installed in accordance with your contract documents, Australian Standards and the National Construction Code. stage inspection today. Generally a great job by this . Good to see window flashings being installed in accordance with the latest NCC (all too often we still don't). They missed the centre nailing of the Hyne bracing in some areas - a critical oversight, and failed to pin some of the structural columns together. Provided these items are fixed, this home is well on the way to becoming a sound and comfortable .

This morning’s inspection was of a 50 year old store room and laboratory which contained both rising and falling damp. The building suffered from a range of issues from poorly designed stormwater drainage through to inadequate ventilation and places where “bridging” had occurred allowing moisture to easily ingress through the walls. Our report put forward options for addressing these issues, from short term fixes through to longer term strategies.
