Percy - the Opera

The Conservatorium of Music at the University of Sydney has completed filming of their production of Acts I and II of "Percy". They're into the editing phase now. Then...watch this space.

Obtaining pictures was a difficult task in creating the libretto. The "video" (montage of pictures of mostly the White Plains home) is a remarkable and useful work (especially as the Sydney Conservatorium of Music prepares for its fully workshopped production of Act I of "Percy - the Opera". Much appreciated.

This is from the Percy Grainger Society. The extremely dedicated and determined folks from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, notably Anke Ryan, are busy making preparations for a full workshopped production of Act I for June. Third time lucky! (Bloody CO-VID 19!)

My new full score of 'Lincolnshire Posy' arrived today with many thanks to Mark Rogers.

Act II music of "Percy the Opera" is almost finished. The Conservatorium of Music (University of Sydney) will be producing a complete workshopped production Of Act one in June.

FB reminded me I'd not posted here for a while. I'm waiting on the Sydney Conservatorium to let me and my composers know when they're able to proceed with the workshop of Act I (which will be videotaped). (The photo is Ella in her magnificent wedding dress.)

Due to COVID 19 the workshop was postponed until later this year.

Our founder and namesake, Percy Grainger was born. Happy birthday Percy! Today marks the 136th year since his birth. Percy was born in Brighton, a southern suburb of Melbourne on July 8, 1882, to John H. Grainger and Rose Grainger (née Aldridge)
