We Still Have A Couple Left!

So many of you saw the departure of two R32 GT-Rs from our display last week, but we thought we would remind the Nissan fans that there are still a few Skylines hanging around the Museum!

The National Motor Racing Museum is open daily from 9am to 4:30pm, closed on Tuesdays!

Driver To Europe Champion!

Rolling in late last week was the beautiful Bowin P4A Formula Ford, driven by Bob Skelton to win the 1972 Driver to Europe series!

This fully Australian designed and built race car dominated the 1972 series, winning four of eight rounds, and the remaining four also being won by drivers in P4As!

Thanks to the owner for the loan of this great piece of Australian motor racing history!

Bookings Are Open!

It's only a few weeks until our "I Can't Believe It's Not Fathers' Day" event on Sunday 13 September, and we're opening bookings for our ever-popular replica car laps of Mount Panorama today! Make Dad's day with a run around the most iconic 6.2km of road in Australia in our Monaro GTS327, XR Falcon GT, Mini Cooper S, Ford Cortina GT or Pepsi Falcon Supercar! (Or treat yourself to a lap 😄)

Prices start from $15.00 per seat per lap, and to book, please call us at the National Motor Racing Museum on (02) 6332 1872. On the day, we'll have the first look at our all-new Peter Brock Special Exhibition, free entry to the Museum for Dads and Father figures, and a sausage sizzle by the Bathurst Girl Guides.

Two More Arrivals!

We’ll share more details early next week, but as well as two departures, we had two very different exhibits rolling to the display today!

First up was Bob Skelton’s 1972 Championship winning Bowin F4A Formula Ford, and as probably the greatest possible contrast, we had a very historic car from the history of the Variety Bash, the 1959 Ford Fairlane Ranch Wagon “Bashbusters”!

We’ll have a closer look at these two cars next week, and also give you some more information about booking for our I Can’t Believe It’s Not Father’s Day event!

Farewell!

Two very special machines departed the Museum this morning, after starring in our Nissan in Motorsport Special Exhibition over the past year!

The 1991 and 1992 Tooheys 1000 winning GT-Rs have left our display, after being very popular with our visitors- much more popular than they were in October 1992!

Thanks to the cars’ owner for the loan of these incredibly significant Bathurst winners!

Twice Around The Clock!

It’s been a while since we last had the 2003 Bathurst 24 Hour winning Monaro 427C with us, so we thought we’d share a few more photos of some details of this very special car!

Many of you have likely seen vision of Greg Murphy giving the car some exercise at last year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, where he definitely did Mount Panorama proud!

Brocky’s 12 Hour Volvo!

Our latest arrival at Mount Panorama is the Volvo 850 T-5R driven by Peter Brock and Tony Scott in the 1995 Eastern Creek 12 hour!

During the first era of the Bathurst 12 Hour, Brock had driven Commodores and a Peugeot 405 before moving to the Volvo team in 1994, and stayed with the Swedish brand for the event’s one and only running at Eastern Creek. Unfortunately mechanical issues saw car #05 finish in 16th outright.

Thanks to the car’s owner for loaning us this fantastic car, and also to our friends at Museum of Vehicle Evolution - MOVE in Shepparton for sneaking the Volvo out the door for our display 😁

Wheel Wednesday!

We haven’t done one of these for a while, but with some new arrivals it seemed only fitting!

This one shouldn’t be too hard, especially given the theme of many of our recent arrivals…

Welcome Back!

One of our arrivals this morning was an old friend returning! We’re incredibly pleased to see the 2003 Bathurst 24 Hour winning Monaro 427C return to Mount Panorama!

Farewell!

This morning we dodged the weather to say goodbye to three fantastic Nissans that have been with us for the past year or so!

The R88C, R35 GT-R and Primera Supertourer have returned to their owner, but we’ve had a couple of great new arrivals to take their place, ahead of our next Special Exhibition!
