A little repair work on the firewall while we wait for the new front to return from the media blasters . The very common bash the hell out of the firewall mod to give the clutch fork clearance . Same was done for starter motor clearance . I have never had clearance issues with the rx2 - rx3 - rx4 the only ones we use to modify with a fabricated recess was the 1000 utes - r100 - 1300 etc .

Onto the chassis bench and off with the front. Drivers side rail was 20mm higher than the passenger side rail 🤔. Usually we can undrill the spot welds and slide the front off but someone had previously seam welded ( quality welds 🥴) a new front on which means we had to cut the bulk of and then unpick the rest of the firewall one piece at a time . A mix of mig and braze weld on this one .

Another mazda rx2 coupe we are bringing back from the dead . From what we can see it has had a full front replacement and then another half front replacement in its life . From the damage on both quarters and rear valance and front swaps im guessing it was a rally car once in its life . More pics to follow 👍

Just a heads up for people buying these repro mazda Rx3 arm rests that everyone is selling .
We had a customer supply some to fit to his rx3 sedan thinking they were like the factory ones fitted .
As you can tell from the pics they look nothing like rx3 arm rests plus they are gray and not black . We also had to die grind out the holes so a decent sized washer could be fitted so they wont pull of the door . Bolt spacing is also approx 5mm out from the factory ones but the holes are big enough to allow you to bolt them in off centre . Yes they do fit on but no they are not repro rx3 they are infact mazda b2000 - 2200 - 2600 ute arm rests .

Mazda Rx4 engine bay looms in today for an update

Before and after on the rx3 RH loom. Stripped . Circuits not required removed . New braided covering and new plugs installed. Now setup as plug n play. Includes a new fuse/relay box and circuit breaker ( not pictured )

Wiring fun. Rx3 this time. Complete strip down with this one . Upgrade some of the circuits . Remove what isn't needed and convert it from left hand drive to right had drive. Which means the terminal removal tools are going to get a workout 🥴

I think this person found out it doesn't matter how much brush on body sealer you use it still won't straighten that bent chassis rail 🥴. We get all the good jobs 😭

Finally found some solid metal 🎊🎉. Now to clean it all up and start fabricating replacement sections. .All internal panels will be treated and sealed while it is all open .
