Maric Flow Control Check valves are produced specifically for protecting slurry pumps and glandwater installations. These valves combine the constant flow rate function with a non-return component. The valves have gained acceptance where slurries are pumped, but they have been designed for alumina processing. The valves deliver a constant flow of lubrication water into the gland seals of large slurry pumps. EPDM rubbers are used because of the caustic nature of alumina slurries. Australia, China, Brazil and Russia are the most dominant countries in bauxite mining for aluminum production. A regional has a set of 4 bores that serve the town through a 450 main. The have been fitted with to make sure they do not over-rotate, lift and damage their bearings. These have been costing the community about $8k each for a service every 2-3 years.
