Introducing the headlining act for this term’s Low Stakes 2026 gig, an Adelaide local emo/hardcore band called Raccoon City (Yes as in Resident Evil’s “Raccoon City”) who have a powerful, energetic and upbeat sound. Come on over!

Introducing the event you have all been waiting for: The Goyder Youth Advisory Committee and Northern Sound System Present - BATTLE OF THE BANDS 2026!

If you are in a band and play original music come on down to the Burra Town Hall and show us what you got! With an assortment of incredible prizes and opportunities to be won, including a funded day of recording in the studio, this is a Battle of the Bands you don’t want to miss 🤘🤘🤘

Ages 12–25
2 x Original Songs
1 x Cover- School Band, Uni Band, Program Band and ANY Band are welcome to participate as long as you have original music to play!

✨Details
Time of Event: 12:00pm(Noon) - 6:30pm (some bands will need to arrive earlier for soundchecks)
Date: Saturday, October 24th, 2026
Location: Burra Town Hall

There will be a guest panel of South Australian music representatives and youth representatives scoring the acts and a surprise guest performance!

*Please note, there will be a capacity of 10 Bands to participate in the Battle of the Bands and upon receiving a confirmation email, your band will need to read and acknowledge the Terms and Conditions*

Northern Sounds to Northern Grounds, the grind never stops and NSS is excited to announce that we have our very own CAFE!!!
 
Northern Grounds launches this Friday, June 5th, and is a unique opportunity for young people to volunteer and build up their hospitality skills 🤩
 
From learning the art of being a barista, taking orders and serving up B3 coffee, you can gain first-hand café experience right here at the Northern Grounds Café ☕️🍵🫖
 
The café will be open every Friday Morning from 8:30am -10:30 with drinks ranging from $4-$6 and free for anyone with a student ID card - it doesn’t get better than that!

I’M IN A BAND, I’M IN A BAND 📣

IRL: Be in a Band is BACK for Term 3! If you play an instrument and want to learn the skills to be a band, you should check out this program!

Running on Weekly Wednesday Evenings from 5:30pm - 7:30pm, come along and learn to write, record and perform your own music with other like-minded people 🥁🎸

Spots are limited so get in early!
Ages 13-17
Approx 1 year of experience recommended or a good understanding of instrument skills 🤟
