A massive thank you to Sam Ackland, the original founder of Build Clean.

Ten-ish years ago Sam and Jack were just two broke blokes with a ute, a mop and no real idea what we were doing.

Sam had a little maintenance business called Ground Control. Every now and then his mum would pass on a builders clean she didn’t want. We took one look at that work and realised nobody was doing it properly. So we backed ourselves, rebranded to Build Clean, and went all in on construction cleaning.

We paid ourselves next to nothing. We maxed the credit cards, lines of credit, ATO debt & even redrew on our home loans. We used to laugh about the day we’d ever have ten staff.

Today there’s close to 150 of us across four states.

None of that happens without Sam. He took the first risk, and he built this thing shoulder to shoulder with the team.

Sam’s since moved on to chase his own thing, Alpha Tradie | Business Coaching , coaching tradies on how to build better businesses, and he is absolutely crushing it. Give him a follow.

So this one’s simply to say thank you, mate. For the late nights, the punts that paid off, the ones that didn’t, and for everything you built here.
