The members of the Marino Rocks Social would like to wish the new owners of the premises, The Rocks Restaurant Marino every success as they embark on their new venture. We are so happy that a local business is seeing their dreams turn into reality at this beautiful location and we hope that they are well supported by locals and beyond.

Before we close down our website and socials, we would like to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts to the community who got behind and supported the vision and café that was the Marino Rocks Social. Our deepest gratitude also goes out to the visionary who started it all, Ariella Helfgott and the founding board members who worked along side her. Your vision, dedication, expertise and time is what brought so many members forward pledging their time and money to the idea that held a very special place in our hearts.

We would also like to thank all following board members and the countless others who volunteered many hours of their own time, their skills and patience to the cause. A huge thank you to all kitchen and front of house staff as well.

It certainly wasn’t an easy ride, mistakes were made but the love and passion for keeping this iconic location within community hands brought so many people together. It truly was beautiful to see so many people coming together like this.

Thank you for the memories and the support and please get down to the new “The Rocks Restaurant Marino” and support this local business!

Two years ago a group of committed community members had a dream to create a hospitality venue for the community, owned by the community and run by the community. There was an amazing and generous response and that dream became a reality with the formation of the Marino Rocks Community Co-op and the purchase of the Marino Rocks Social Cafe.

It is with a heavy heart that we advise that the challenges faced in this venture for a group who were strong on enthusiasm but lacking in experience proved to be too much of a hurdle. We have had to face the fact that the venture, for us, has failed but also that it presents a unique opportunity for someone to step in and realise the incredible potential of this iconic site.

1 Marine Parade, Marino will go to auction on Tuesday, 12th September at 11am and we invite you to share details of this opportunity with those who might have the vision and the capacity to make our dream their own.

Abbots and Kinney pop up store at Marino Rocks Social opening hours are Wednesday-Sunday 7:30am-3pm with delicious pastries, toasties and salad bowls available! They aren't currently taking bookings so pop on down during these opening times and grab yourself a treat.

We have the amazing artisans from the famous food truck Simply Flammekueche who are taking over our kitchen for the night to bring you the tastiest French-German pizza – a traditional artisan product from the French-German border region of Alsace. Also known as Flammkuchen in Germany, Flammekueche is crispy, light and delicious! 🍕
