This is the reality with cars/filming and lifes challenges. Sometimes, sacrifices have to be made at times, and this time, it is making content 🤷‍♂️

Recently, the bora hit another milestone when it ticked over to 200,000 MILES! You read that correctly. Being this car was imported from the UK over here in Australia, it still reads in miles, which has taken me a while to adjust to when working out fuel consumption 😅

Scored a downpipe and catback exhaust for the bora from Gumtree. It seemed too good to be true. Once fitted, I realised the downpipe was too good to be true 🫣

100th POST!!!

As a milestone, I wanted to bring you back to 2011 where it all began.

Back in 2011, after losing my licence, I wanted to get back into a small hatch to avoid getting into any further issues with the law 😅

I've always loved VWs but did not want an air-cooled project, so I had to be modern. Jumped on carsales and found an Indigo Blue MK4 Golf - Manual 1.6 with Beige interior.

After joining forums from the likes of vwwatercooled.com.au, vwgolf.net and obviously vwvortex.com gave me so many ideas to make the car my own.
The first mod had to be tint - the fish bowl look wasn't my thing.

Next was an updated headunit, followed by some aftermarket smoked LED tail lights and some Spec D Tuning Halo headlights.
Then came the KW V1 coilovers + 18" Zolder Reps (YES I said reps! 🫣 was a package deal with the KWs)

With this being only my second timing belt job in about 10 years, my anxiety was at it's peak.
Starting with the wrong parts held me up a couple of weeks but once I received the correct parts I managed to get straight into it.

Turns out the tensioner wasn't "tensioned" enough but the belt didn't seem loose enough to worry me.

Whoever designed this engine mount can are pure evil! I needed hands half the size they are to even get to half the bolts 😅😅

Can not wait to get everything buttoned on this and finally get it on the road!

Timing belt on the bora is done! Finally, I managed to get this video done for the end of 2023!
What a year this has been, unfortunately I had to put some projects on the back burners as life was a bit hectic. Looking forward to 2024, will finally get the bora project on the road then release the details of the following project!

Day Of The Volkswagen 2023

This was my first time I've the event and was blown away by the quality and quantity of all the air/water-cooled VWs!

Was great to catch up with the MK4 crew and finally putting faces to the names!

Another show ✅️ off the list of events to attend!

Will decide come again in the future for a few more days, potentially bring a different car by then who knows 🤷‍♂️
