2020 was an unusual year for Dubrovnik. No masses of tourists on the streets.

Olive trees are fascinating, I am particularly taken by their trunks, the younger look vigorous and strong, the older tree trunks may look wrinkled and dead, but they are alive, they are incredible survivors. There are many ancient olive trees around the Mediterranean Sea, often several centuries old and still bearing fruit. There are some that are two thousand and more years old. The branches of olive trees were used to crown victors of friendly games and bloody wars and the olive has symbolized wisdom, fertility, power and purity.Here some images of olive trees on our island and Ulli hugging a tree over 2000 years old in Montenegro.

There are worse places to be locked, Kolocep is perhaps an ideal place to exercise social distancing. The spring is here perfect, our house is just 30 meters from the sea, no neighbors. No tourists, perhaps only about 50 people living now on the island. The images taken with Fuji XT-2.
