Model European Union Vienna

Dear friends,

Today isn’t about MEU branches, about nationality, nor simulations. Today real life urges us to practise what we all stand for, united as an unique team.

Unfortunately, we don’t have the tools to end these dramatic events, nor to prevent further catastrophy, but together, we can at least try to make a difference and to take concrete action to help our friends in Ukraine.

Talking with some MEU friends today, we decided we are going to offer accommodation at our own homes for our endangered friends, as a response to the dramatic turn of events today.

In order to facilitate this, we’ve put together two forms, linked to a new email address:

If you are currently in Ukraine and looking for a safe shelter after fleeing the country, please state so in the above form. Our MEU friends who stated their offers will get in touch with you shortly after.
Similarly, if you are able to offer shelter to friends in need coming from Ukraine, please use the first form accordingly. You are strongly encouraged to share them with your community as well.

Please note that this is not the initiative of any MEU and is not operated by any association. It is just us standing by our friends in Ukraine; any further arrangements would be directly conducted between yourselves and applicants with needs that fit your offer.

This year we have been blessed with this guy joining the MEU Vienna team...and we think it's safe to say this edition would have been much poorer without his joyful presence! Happy (belated, we admit) birthday, Rémi! We appreciate you more than words can say and hope you have an awesome celebration!

Today we are celebrating our friend and colleague, Marko! 🎉 Marko was a participant in our 2020 edition but this year we were lucky enough to have him join our team as the Legal Service for Adequate Minimum Wages. Needless to say, he's done a tremendous job and we couldn't be more thankful to have corrupted him into joining the organising team! Happy birthday, Marko! May all your wishes come true! 🙌

And no, we're not discussing furniture here 😅 but the people who will preside over the debates in both the Parliament and the Council, ensuring that discussions stay relevant and productive. 🙌 These people are super knowledgeable and committed but they're also very approachable, so nothing to be scared about (at least not yet...OK, we're joking)! Let's see who we have here...💙
