Austria has a thriving design scene in all areas and makes a proud point in industrial design and product design, in graphic and illustration, in typography as well as experimental design. ADN gathers the knowledge and competencies of the leading design institutions and centres to enhance the exchange of ideas, skills and visions for Austria as a design nation. It is a platform to make design more
accessible, to transfer knowledge, to support designers, to advise companies in achieving their economic objectives and a unique position through design management and to present design and designers to a wider public and celebrate their achievements. Seven Austria organisations decided to combine their strengths and their networks in order to present Austrian design abroad and communicate the activities outside of Austria in a unified form as Austria Design Net - designaustria, designforum vienna, Creative Industries Styria, MAK – Austrian Museum of Applied Arts / Contemporary Art, the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK, CREATIVE.REGION Linz & Upper Austria and departure, the Creative Unit of the Vienna Business Agency. By keeping their individual approaches and perceptions of design the initiating partners of Austria Design Net aim to communicate Austria‘s vivid design scene, the results, activities and successes to an international public.
