The meat for our carpaccio.
The dish, based on the Piedmont speciality carne cruda all'albese, was invented in 1950 by Giuseppe Cipriani, founder of Harry's Bar in Venice. He originally prepared the dish for the countess Amalia Nani Mocenigo when he learned that the doctors had recommended that she eat raw meat. The dish was named carpaccio after Vittore Carpaccio, the Venetian painter known for the characteristic red and white tones of his work that you can see reflected in the colors of the meat!

These past weeks we’ve gotten the opportunity to try out this absolutely great espresso roasted by in Malmö, southern Sweden. Elegant yet nutty and great with milk!

Snow is back! 3+ dm of the fresh stuf over night before today and the mountain looks like paradise again!
The only ones complaining are and who did the mowing on our terrace today instead of going skiing!
