Official Opening of IACA’s 13th Summer Academy
IACA 13th International Anti-Corruption Summer Academy officially opened on Saturday, 10 June 2023, at our campus in Laxenburg.
The Summer Academy program is a specialized initiative that focuses on addressing corruption. It brings together international participants to learn, exchange skills, and share expertise in the fight against corruption. This year, the program has hosted 56 participants from 32 countries, creating a diverse and collaborative environment for learning and networking.
Under the theme of “Practice Meets Science”, the Summer Academy offers a dynamic blend of practical application and scientific insights, empowering participants to tackle corruption through evidence-based approaches and real case studies.
Leading experts from diverse countries and sectors have gathered to share their expertise and to extend their knowledge on trending anti-corruption topics, such as how to build a corruption prevention system; the impact of corruption on the economy; organized crime and money laundering; and green corruption and environmental crimes. This year, we added two additional topics: humanitarian aid; and tackling corruption to achieve sustainable development.
The training opens with teambuilding exercises, and in addition to intensive in-class sessions, other highlights include a round-table discussion on Addressing the Green Corruption and Environmental Crimes, an excursion to Klosterneuburg, and a festive closing ceremony.
Throughout the week, participants will have the opportunity to connect with fellow professionals and join the IACA alumni network of more than 4,500 anti-corruption and compliance professionals from 168 countries and jurisdictions.
