NTHMP has tremendously aided the territory in achieving our goal of becoming a TsunamiReady community.
All milestones and achievements to attain this designation can be directly attributed to the funding provided by the NTHMP. This page is intended for promoting Tsunami Outreach and Preparedness. The AS Tsunami Program and NTHMP's mission is aligned to assess tsunami threat, prepare community response, issue timely and effective warnings, and mitigate damage.

September 27, 2026: Wind Advisory now in effect.
Wind Advisory in effect for the remainder of the weekend as windy conditions (around 30 mph with higher gusts) have developed across the territory. Loose objects may be blown around, travel will be more difficult for high profile vehicles, and an isolated power outage is possible. Impacts are greater in high elevation areas and near showers.
To begin the new week, wind speeds are forecast to decrease below advisory levels, but should still remain breezy throughout the week.
