I worked at Samoa News for Publisher Jake King in 1975-76. Rowena King ran the office with young son Gary in attendance. Kalala was copy editor and typesetter, Fetu worked in the office, Eti was general manager, one young man ran the press all night. In the morning we all folded and collated papers, then Eti delivered them around town in Jake’s station wagon. A palagi man was sales manager. CCAS journalism teacher Ron Grant contributed many pictures and stories.
Apelu Aitaoto wrote rhe most popular Samoan serials. I wrote some stories and edited AP copy. I was in charge of the minolta srt-103 camera with big f1.2 lens loaded with tri-x film. I was tavita and sometimes called tusitala 😃
Jake was the boss who spent time at the Rainmaker bar getting juicy stories and material for his popular editorials.
He gave me the editor title, but the reality was I still folded papers and went on deliveries. It was a family business run by publisher Jake King.

Easter Bunnies! The two baby bunnies enjoyed pushing an eater basket around their hutch, then collapsed inside for a long nap. Mama Lucy bunny seems relieved to stretch out peacefully asleep nearby.
