📢 Meet Auxten Wang - joining PyData & PyCon Yerevan 2026 as a speaker.

Auxten is a database engineer and open-source builder based in Singapore, currently working at ClickHouse. He is the creator of chDB - an embedded ClickHouse engine that allows running OLAP SQL directly inside Python environments like Jupyter Notebooks.

In his talk Auxten will share practical lessons from migrating a real Python extension module to Python 3.14’s free-threaded build.

The session will cover:

🔹 Hidden GIL issues inside C/C++ extensions
🔹 Performance improvements and benchmark results
🔹 What worked, what broke, and what surprised them during the migration

🧠 Historical myths, national narratives, and LLMs - what happens when AI tries to tell history?

Gabriel Preda, Principal Data Scientist at Endava, Kaggle & AI Google Developer Expert, will join PyData & PyCon Yerevan 2026 with a talk that explores how large language models handle historically sensitive topics.

🔹 Using a custom benchmark built around Romanian history, Gabriel examines where LLMs repeat simplified or biased narratives, where they succeed, and what this tells us about AI reasoning and reliability.

With a background spanning research, software engineering, machine learning, and data science, he brings both technical depth and real-world perspective to the discussion.
