Më 3 Qershor, në Vlorë, u zhvillua me sukses një takim i rëndësishëm që mblodhi së bashku të gjithë aktorët e interesit për të diskutuar, bashkëpunuar dhe ndarë ide mbi çështje me rëndësi për komunitetin dhe zhvillimin e mëtejshëm.

Ky event shërbeu si një platformë e vlefshme për shkëmbimin e përvojave, forcimin e partneriteteve dhe krijimin e mundësive të reja për bashkëpunim. Pjesëmarrja aktive dhe kontributi i të gjithë të pranishmëve dëshmoi rëndësinë e dialogut dhe angazhimit të përbashkët në arritjen e objektivave të përbashkëta.

Faleminderit të gjithë pjesëmarrësve për kontributin, idetë dhe angazhimin e tyre. Së bashku ndërtojmë iniciativa më të forta dhe një të ardhme më të mirë.

Today, on World Ocean Day, the Albanian Center for Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development (ACEPSD) joins the global community in celebrating the vital role that oceans play in sustaining life, supporting livelihoods, regulating the climate, and preserving biodiversity.

The sea is one of Albania’s most valuable natural assets. From the Adriatic and Ionian coasts to marine protected areas, fisheries, aquaculture, tourism, and blue innovation opportunities, our marine ecosystems are essential for the country’s environmental, social, and economic well-being.

At ACEPSD, we are committed to promoting:

The marine (blue) biotechnology sector can have a significant impact on the environment, human wellbeing and economic growth, however in the Mediterranean basin it is currently in its infancy. Hence, the creation of innovation communities is of high priority to advance in this field. The 2B-BLUE project (supported by Interreg Euro-MED) supports the creation of blue biotechnology networks accross the Mediterranean. Six countries (Albania, France, Greece, Italy, Slovenia and Spain) reppresenting the project piloted the blue biotechnology value chains by creating public-private partnerships to test and develop new technologies.

This video shows how to create such partnerships and how to replicate our good practices. We present these case studies:
1. Albania: innovative integrated multitrophic aquaculture systems (fish, mussels, pearl oysters and sea cucumbers)
2. France: microalgae cultivation for food and other industries
3. Greece: a) integrated sea cucumber and mussel farming, b) floating microalgae cultivation
4. Slovenia: a) microalgae cultivation, b) integrated sea cucumber and mussel farming, c) valorization of marine biomass
5. Spain: bioremediation through algae cultivation

📣 On 30 March 2026, Albanian Center for Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development (ACEPSD) organised a workshop in the Academy of Sciences of Albania building. The workshop was organized within the framework of the “From Sea to Solution” Awareness Campaign, implemented under the Interreg Euro-MED Programme project 2B-Blue Project, with the objective of promoting Blue Biotechnology and sustainable aquaculture practices among students, researchers, and academic stakeholders in Albania. The event formed part of a series of workshops planned across several Albanian cities, including Durrës, Shkodër, and Vlorë, aiming to support the development of a Mediterranean Blue Future through awareness, collaboration, and knowledge exchange.
This event was on purpose organised at the Academy of Sciences of Albania (ASS), because of the importance of this institution on coordinating role in scientific activities at the national level and it demonstrated the growing commitment of national and international stakeholders to support innovation, policy development, and capacity building in Blue Biotechnology and sustainable aquaculture, laying a solid foundation for future activities and long-term collaboration in Albania and across the Mediterranean region.

📣Më 30 mars 2026, Qendra Shqiptare për Mbrojtjen e Mjedisit dhe Zhvillim të Qëndrueshëm (ACEPSD) organizoi një workshop në ndërtesën e Akademisë së Shkencave të Shqipërisë. Workshop-i u organizua në kuadër të fushatës së ndërgjegjësimit “From Sea to Solution”, e zbatuar nën projektin 2B-Blue të Programit Interreg Euro-MED, me objektivin për të promovuar Bioteknologjinë Blu dhe praktikat e akuakulturës së qëndrueshme midis studentëve, studiuesve dhe aktorëve akademikë (e jo vetem) në Shqipëri. Aktiviteti ishte pjesë e një serie workshop-esh të planifikuara në disa qytete shqiptare, përfshirë Durrësin, Shkodrën dhe Vlorën, me synimin për të mbështetur zhvillimin e një të Ardhme Blu Mesdhetare përmes ndërgjegjësimit, bashkëpunimit dhe shkëmbimit të njohurive.
Ky aktivitet u organizua qëllimisht në Akademinë e Shkencave të Shqipërisë (ASH), për shkak të rëndësisë së këtij institucioni në rolin koordinues të aktiviteteve shkencore në nivel kombëtar, dhe ai demonstroi angazhimin në rritje të aktorëve kombëtarë dhe ndërkombëtarë për të mbështetur inovacionin, zhvillimin e politikave dhe rritjen e kapaciteteve në fushën e Bioteknologjisë Blu dhe akuakulturës së qëndrueshme, duke vendosur një bazë të fortë për aktivitetet e ardhshme dhe bashkëpunimin afatgjatë në Shqipëri dhe në rajonin e Mesdheut.
