🎵 Meet Tinotenda Muyambo , a true multi-talented gem of Deze RaWasu! 🌟✨

With a voice that touches your soul, mesmerizing dance moves, and the ability to create enchanting mbira voice melodies, Tinotenda, also known as Save Masiziba, adds a magical touch to our band.

Born on July 11, 1998, Tinotenda is the firstborn in a family of two, hailing from the vibrant city of Mutare. Her journey in the world of performing arts began at Baring Primary School, where she immersed herself in the art of traditional dance from grades 5 to 7. Not only did she excel in dance, but she also showcased her skills on the hockey field, proving her versatility and determination.

Continuing her education at Sakubva High School from 2012 to 2015, Tinotenda successfully completed her O Levels, laying a strong foundation for her future endeavors. In 2016, she pursued her passion for tourism and hospitality by enrolling at Mutare Polytechnic Institute, where she obtained a national certificate in the field. Her dedication to learning and acquiring new skills is truly inspiring.

In 2019, Tinotenda embarked on a different path, taking on a role as a waitress at Club 263 in Mutare. This experience not only sharpened her social skills but also allowed her to connect with a diverse range of individuals, further enriching her artistic perspective.

Tinotenda's musical journey has deep roots in her Christian upbringing. Growing up in a home where their mother served as a choir master, she was exposed to the power of music from an early age. Joining the United Methodist Church choir, Tinotenda discovered her love for singing, turning it into more than just a hobby—it became a source of joy and self-expression.

But Tinotenda's talents don't stop at singing. She is also a remarkable backing vocalist, a captivating dancer, and a skilled player of the hosho, adding rhythm and percussion to Deze RaWasu performances. Tinotenda's ability to seamlessly blend her talents and contribute to the band's vibrant energy is truly remarkable.

Sociable and teachable, Tinotenda brings a warm and welcoming presence to our band, fostering collaboration and creating a positive atmosphere. With her dazzling performances and infectious enthusiasm, she leaves the audiences captivated and wanting more.

🎵 Introducing Nigel Mutasa : The Soulful Voice and Visionary Leader of Deze RaWasu! 🎶

Prepare to be captivated by the extraordinary talent and boundless creativity of Nigel Mutasa, the heart and soul of our band, Deze RaWasu. Nigel, born on January 20, 2000, is not only a gifted singer, songwriter, and mbira player, but also a visionary leader who guides us on our musical journey.

Nigel's educational path was not without challenges, but his determination and love for music never wavered. He began his schooling at Baring Primary in 2006, where he laid the foundation for his future endeavors. Later, he transferred to Hartzel Central Primary School, completing his studies in 2012. However, circumstances prevented him from attending school for two years, as he lacked the financial means to start Form 1. Nevertheless, Nigel's passion for music continued to burn brightly.

In 2015, a new chapter began for Nigel as he enrolled in St. Matthias Tsonzo High School for Form 1. It was during this time that his talent for playing the Ngoma/African drum on Sundays became widely recognized. Rising early in the hostel, Nigel would eagerly prepare the Ngoma/African drum, setting the stage for mesmerizing performances by the choir.

The year 2017 marked a significant milestone in Nigel's musical journey when the mbira was introduced at his school. Naturally, Nigel stepped forward to lead the mbira club, showcasing his prowess on this traditional instrument alongside the vibrant sounds of the marimba. His ability to seamlessly merge tradition with innovation was truly awe-inspiring.

Nigel's upbringing in Chikanga Phase 2 was marked by the absence of his father, who had fled to South Africa due to paternity issues. Nevertheless, he found solace and inspiration in the unwavering love and support of his mother. She became his guiding light, nurturing his musical gifts and encouraging him to pursue his dreams.

As a musician, Nigel's talents are vast and diverse. He is a master of the mbira, Ngoma/African drum, hosho, marimba, and traditional dances. But his musical curiosity extends beyond the boundaries of tradition, as he also explores western instruments like the drum set and bass guitar. Nigel's ability to effortlessly blend different musical influences is a testament to his creativity and versatility.

It was no surprise that Nigel earned the nickname "Jah Cross" for his exceptional skill in chanting Zimdancehall songs. His captivating voice, coupled with his deep understanding of the genre, has made him a true force to be reckoned with

🎵 Meet Dudzai Mutsago : The Soulful Voice and Rhythm of Deze RaWasu ! 🎶

In the depths of rural Bocha Marange, amidst the harmonious whispers of nature, a remarkable talent was born. Dudzai Mutsago , our extraordinary backing vocalist, mbira player, and hosho playe/percussionist, has graced our band with his immense musical prowess and unwavering dedication.

Dudzai's journey is one filled with both triumph and heartache. From the moment he entered this world on October 23, 1997, he faced the absence of a father figure. Tragically, his father had passed away in July, leaving a void that would shape his life.

Growing up in a family of three, with two loving sisters, Dudzai's path was not always easy. Yet, his spirit remained unyielding, and his passion for music burned brighter than ever. He attended St. Andrew's Primary School in Marange Mutare from 2004 to 2010, and later continued his education at Holy Ghost College, where he completed his "O" level studies in 2015.

Despite the challenges he faced, Dudzai's determination led him to pursue his dreams beyond the boundaries set before him. He embraced his passion for music, even though it was met with resistance from his family, who did not fully understand the depth of his talent and its potential.

Dudzai's artistic journey is not limited to his musical abilities. He is also an international diploma holder in Transport & Logistics Management, a testament to his tenacity and thirst for knowledge. His commitment to both his craft and his education is truly inspiring.

In our band, Dudzai's vocals soar with emotion, captivating audiences with their soul-stirring power. His skillful touch on the mbira and hosho/percussion instruments adds a mesmerizing rhythm that intertwines seamlessly with our melodies.

Beyond his undeniable talent, Dudzai's story reminds us of the power of perseverance and the ability to overcome obstacles. Through his music, he has found solace, strength, and a way to express the depths of his soul.

The Chibuku Road To Fame National Finale was a spectacular event held at the Takashinga cricket club on Saturday, featuring talented musicians showcasing their musical prowess and creativity.

The competition was fierce, with each participant bringing their A-game. As Deze RaWasu band, we had the honour of participating and received heartwarming support from fans. Although we didn't secure a spot in the top 3, the event provided an invaluable platform to showcase our unique sound and connect with fellow music enthusiasts.

We congratulate the bands that emerged as the top three finalists for their exceptional talent and dedication. The event was a testament to the limitless power of music and the unity it brings. We are grateful for the support and memories created during the event.
