The 6th edition of SARSYC registration is now underway, and we are encouraged by the strong response and enthusiastic entries received so far. As Namibia prepares to host this landmark conference, we look forward to a powerful platform where young people, professionals, and advocates will come together to engage, learn, share insights, and champion best practices in health, education, and the broader public health discourse.

Across Africa, young people continue to face many of the same pressing challenges. That is why coming together through platforms such as SARSYC is not only important, it is necessary. When youth unite, they amplify their voices, shape solutions, and influence policies that affect their lives and futures. This conference offers a critical opportunity to collectively strategize and clearly communicate to governments and decision-makers what young people want, what they need, and how they believe these ideas should be implemented.

Now more than ever, youth participation must move beyond being symbolic to being intentional, meaningful, and action-oriented. SARSYC is a space for young leaders to contribute to conversations that matter, drive advocacy, and help build systems that are responsive, inclusive, and sustainable.

Be part of this process. Register, raise your voice, and help shape the future of health and education for young people across Africa.

A tragic accident occurred in Gweru yesterday, where a kombi transporting school children from Senga caught fire, claiming the lives of seven pupils. This heartbreaking loss is a stark reminder of how crucial child safety is.

Such a tragedy calls for urgent attention under the child protection banner. Schools and parents must work together to ensure the safety of children traveling to and from school. This includes making sure that the vehicles used are properly registered school transport and are regularly serviced and inspected for roadworthiness and performance.

It hasnt been long since we had a combined peer educators training with Bindura University of Science Education (BUSE) and Zimbabwe Ezekiel Guti University .

Impact truly begins when passionate minds come together and our dedicated Peer Educators Club, NCC Membership Secretary, and the BUSE Rotaract team successfully wrapped up a heartfelt donation drive at Chinyaradzo Old People’s Home (Harare).

Through the generosity of students, well-wishers, and even a former student who contributed school uniforms, we were able to collect clothes, foodstuffs, and essential supplies to support the elderly in our community. Answering a call to serve, one student said,

"I was honored to join and contribute what I had gathered this semester, proving that every effort, big or small, creates real change. True peer education goes beyond sharing knowledge; it’s about taking action, showing up, and uplifting others together."

This is what leadership, compassion, and unity look like in motion. A massive thank you to everyone who supported, donated, and believed in this mission. Together, we are building a culture of care. Together, we are making an impact.

Today, we shine the spotlight on Buhlebenkosi Mhlang, our vibrant Web for Life Ambassador from Chinhoyi University of Technology and the proud winner of the 2025 Mashonaland Province Best Web for Life Ambassador Award 🏆.

She reflected:

“The Web for Life has empowered me with knowledge of my sexual and reproductive health rights as a young woman, and it has shaped me into a confident advocate for the girl child. Through this program, I am now able to train and educate other young people to make informed decisions about their health and wellbeing.”

She continued: “Winning the Web for Life Award in 2025 was a proud moment for me. It affirmed that my efforts in promoting sexual and reproductive health and rights for girls are making a difference, and it has motivated me to continue advocating for the empowerment and well-being of the girl child in my province.”

Buhlebenkosi is a true example of passion, purpose, and impact, using her voice to drive change and empower her peers.

👏 Let’s celebrate and support young women leading the way!
