Sexual harassment and stalking are the most frequently reported types of technology-facilitated violence faced by women and girls. Common tactics include image-based abuse (sharing private photos without permission), unsolicited messages, social media posts, and phone calls. Women may experience harassment on digital platforms through comment sections, receive explicit messages, and be tracked via GPS and location-based apps, creating a digital ordeal that frequently extends into their offline lives. There is therefore need to promote collaboration among governments, tech companies, women’s rights groups, and civil society to create policies that protect women and prevent violence. There is also need to develop and enforce laws and regulations with input from survivors and women’s organizations. What can you do to help stop this violence??

26 July is CFHD Day. This year is super special as we celebrate 30 years of Promoting Inclusive Local Governance and Social Accountability for Inclusive Service Delivery in Zimbabwe. For 30 years since 1995, CFHD has been at the forefront of empowering communities, enhancing local governance processes and strengthening human-centred policies for sustainable human settlement and energy transition in the context of climate change and the environment. Supported by 30 years, we believe CFHD is becoming a leading authority in shaping stronger local authorities that value citizen participation, transparency, accountability and are committed to gender-sensitive service delivery to meet national, regional and international standards.
