Umzingwane Rural District Council has extended the deadline for illegal settlers to pay penalties until 30 April 2026, warning that no further extensions will be granted. After this date, Council will carry out physical inspections, requiring all settlers to present valid permits and proof of levy payments. Legal settlers are also urged to renew permits and obtain development levy cards for 2026–2030 during this period

Umzingwane RDC traditional leaders and councilors are undergoing training at Mawabeni Business Centre on several key areas:
- Rural Councils Legal Framework: Understanding the laws governing rural district councils, including the Rural District Councils Act.
- Communal Land Management: Learning about the Communal Land Act, land allocation, and management responsibilities.
- Environment Bylaws: Familiarizing themselves with environmental regulations, conservation, and sustainable resource use.
- Development: Exploring ways to promote local development, infrastructure, and community projects.
The training is being conducted by a team from the District Development Coordinator's (DDC) office, Ministry of Lands, and Umzingwane Rural District Council (RDC).
This training aims to enhance their roles in managing communal land, promoting development, and enforcing environmental bylaws.
