What can I run on a solar system? Most of your home can be run off an inverter excluding inductive loads.
Whats are inductive loads? Stoves, geysers, kettles.anything with an element.
In most cases we separate these loads on the system to only run on ZESA.
The goal of Solar is to still be as energy efficient as possible. So we encourage the use solar geysers, gas stoves and low power consumption appliances.
Ideally you want your solar panels to power your loads through the daytime and your batteries through the night with no down time in the event ZESA has gone.

Do solar panels work in cloudy weather? Yes, solar panels do work on cloudy days — but not as effectively as they would on a sunny day. Expect them to produce 10-25% of their normal power output, depending on how thick the cloud cover.
