🌱 Empowering Youth for Sustainable Food Consumption in Zambia 🌱

Green Nature is proud to have participated in the successful launch of the Youth Voices for Sustainable Food Fellowship, organised by CUTS International with support from GIZ, from 14–16 July 2026 in Chipata, Eastern Province.

The three-day workshop brought together 40 young people, alongside key stakeholders including the Chipata City Council , National Food and Nutrition Commission (NFNC), Chipata Dzitandizeni Nutrition Group, and Green Nature, to strengthen youth leadership in sustainable food systems and agrifood entrepreneurship.

Facilitated by Dr. Kapalu, the workshop equipped participants with practical knowledge on sustainable food systems, entrepreneurship, financial management, record keeping, and the FAO Four Betters Framework, while inspiring each fellow to develop innovative business ideas that will be nurtured throughout the six-month fellowship.

As Green Nature, we are honoured to contribute to initiatives that empower young people with the knowledge, skills, and networks needed to build resilient food systems, promote sustainable livelihoods, and drive positive environmental change in our communities.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Consumer Unity Trust Society - CUTS Lusaka and GIZ Zambia for their commitment to investing in youth, and to all stakeholders whose collaboration made this important initiative a success.

Together, we are nurturing the next generation of leaders for a more sustainable and food-secure Zambia.

CLEAN ENERGY INNOVATION ALTERNATIVE HIT EASTERN PROVINCE!

On the 2nd of July, 2026 Green Nature successfully hosted a Stakeholder Breakfast Meeting at Uncle Chipeta Lodge, Chipata, bringing together government ministries, local authorities, the church, development partners, and community representatives to strengthen collaboration on environmental conservation and sustainable development.

The meeting introduced Green Nature's Low-Budget Biodigester Project, which will be implemented in 10 schools across Eastern Province. Stakeholders discussed practical solutions to address deforestation driven by heavy reliance on charcoal and firewood, while exploring how biodigester technology can promote clean energy, improve sanitation, support sustainable agriculture, and create healthier learning environments for schools.

The gathering reaffirmed the importance of cross-sector partnerships, with stakeholders expressing strong support for the initiative and committing to work together on school identification, community participation, sustainability, and long-term project success.

Green Nature sincerely appreciates the participation and support of the Office of the District Commissioner, the Department of Forestry, the Ministries of Education, Agriculture and Community Development, the Catholic Diocese of Chipata, Chipata City Council, Anglican Church, the media and all stakeholders who contributed to the discussions.

This initiative is supported through the Global Gateway Initiative, the European Union in Zambia the AU-EU Youth Lab and the AU–EU Youth Action Lab (YAL), in collaboration with the Million Trees Level Partnership.

🌱 Empowering Youth. Growing Sustainable Communities. 🌱

Following the collaboration partnership between Green Nature and Consumer Unity Trust Society - CUTS Lusaka with support from GIZ Zambia , we successfully concluded a five-day Trainer of Trainers (ToT) Workshop under the Empowering Youth for Sustainable Food Consumption in Zambia project.

The training equipped young people with practical knowledge and skills in agroecology, organic backyard gardening, compost making, Bokashi preparation, tea manure production, soil fertility management, water conservation, and organic pest and disease control.

The workshop combined classroom learning with hands-on practical sessions, culminating in the establishment of a demonstration garden at Green Nature Eastern Regional Head Office, . Participants are now empowered to become trainers and champions of sustainable food production within their households and communities.

This marks an important step in our shared commitment to promoting healthy food systems, environmental conservation, and youth-led sustainable development.

Together with CUTS International Zambia and GIZ, Green Nature remains dedicated to building resilient communities, trained youths, one backyard garden, and one sustainable solution at a time.
