MY JOURNEY

Greetings my full names are Mapalo Natasha Gona. I was born on the 12th May, 2002. I'm 21 years of age. I'd love to tell my story, so we can all be well acquainted. I will tell you my story, in my own words. Forgive me for the mispronunciation, punctuation errors and grammatical mishaps.

Upon completion of my grade 9, I had clocked 3 years in total in Mansa and it had not been easy, eventually relocating back to Ndola my hometown to commence my grade 10 was the only option at hand. Unfortunately for me I lacked the motivation to continue, I felt this inner voice telling me,

"You cannot do this,"
"Stop wasting our time"
"People don't think you're good enough."
"You're just a nobody."

I will admit, I succumbed to this inner voice and I quit school, my next move was to visit my cousin in mufulira to seek asylum.
"It's a village," I thought, "no one knows me there. I'll just blend in and look for a job."

Apparently life had other plans, the almighty intervened in my situation, I wouldn't, want to bore you with all the details and make it seem like a Nigerian movie but it really happened.
I found myself back in school, thanks to the efforts of loved ones. I completed my high school education.

Enrolled into a professional course in baking, endured school life, hardships (being broke), peer pressure and debts.

Life in Zambia at the moment isn't easy but we make due where we can.

To qoute the greatest rapper alive chef 187, "Umunti ni 99 jobs."

I'm a professional Baker now and it's thanks to loved ones, family and friends .... I'm here alive and kicking....
