THE SCHOOL ATTENDANCE BOOSTER

Mpongwe District commissioner Mwambashi Mwitwa has attributed the increase in the number of pupils in school to the school feeding program that was introduced by government.

Speaking when he made a tour to flag off home grown school meals at Agape and Mpongwe Central Primary schools in Mpongwe, Mr. Mwambashi thanked government for introducing the school feeding program in schools. He urged pupils to focus on their education and also encouraged them to have a vision for their future.

And District Education Standards Officer Charity Chungu urged parents to stress on the beauty and importance of education to their children . She implored the parents and guardians to support and cooperate with government.

The DESO also expressed gratitude to the government for not ending at implementing the free education policy but also including the school feeding programme.

The Parents on the other hand appreciated the government program saying pupils are not only benefitting school grants and free education but also food especially to pupils who come from far flung areas.
